Christopher Vetter, MD, MSc

Dr. Vetter completed a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in medical science at the University of South Florida. He received his medical degree from Ross University College of Medicine. He completed general surgery training at Carle Foundation Hospital and a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Vetter spent two years at Piedmont Newton Hospital building a breast-focused practice and developing extensive oncoplastic experience, while creating a community hospital-based breast cancer program with a multidisciplinary tumor board. Dr. Vetter is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology and a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Vetter’s clinical interests include providing patient-centered breast surgical oncology care with excellent oncologic and cosmetic outcomes, as well as teaching and mentoring trainees. His research interests include quality improvement and structured data capture. He utilizes his background in psychology and computer science to reduce documentation burden, while improving the accessibility of EMR data for quality and research purposes. He has presented nationally and published multiple studies on breast cancer care. Dr. Vetter received multiple accolades during his medical training including a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, Dean’s List, Resident of the Year, Resident Academic Achievement Award, and Best Original Research Poster.
