Matthew M. Rochefort, MD
Dr. Matthew Rochefort is a thoracic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Milford Regional Medical Center, within the Division of Thoracic Surgery. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Rochefort received his medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine (UMMSM) in Miami, FL, and completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Los Angeles, CA. He went on to complete a residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Rochefort’s clinical practice focuses on general thoracic oncology and the management and treatment of benign and malignant esophageal disease. He has a research interest in thoracic surgery clinical outcomes and quality assurance, as well as an education interest in improving surgical education, to find innovative techniques to foster clinical independence in a structured, reliable, and reproducible manner.
