The Ning Zhao & Ge Li Simulation Center provides state-of-the-art, nurse-led training to build and refine technical oncology nursing skills. By offering simulation-based education, the Center creates a dynamic, hands-on learning environment where nurses can practice, debrief, and reinforce evidence-based oncology practices.
Our Mission
To deliver interdisciplinary, evidence-based education and training, using simulation best practices to meet the diverse needs of health care professionals while enhancing oncology patient care and safety. Through world-class education and innovation, the Ning Zhao & Ge Li Simulation Center contributes to Dana-Farber's mission of advancing cancer understanding, treatment, prevention, and care — impacting patients locally and globally.
Our Vision
To cultivate a safe, inclusive learning environment that inspires inquiry, innovation, and continuous professional development. The Center supports nurse development programs including Dana-Farber's new hire training, the Oncology Nurse Residency Program, and the Medical Assistant Externship Placement Program. Our efforts can help in building the next generation of oncology nurses.

Innovative Oncology Nursing Training
Realistic training scenarios were designed by Dana-Farber staff to replicate specialty clinical spaces. The Simulation Center enables Dana-Farber nurses to enhance their skills using cutting-edge equipment. These programs align with Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice®.
Nurse-Led, Oncology-Specific Focus
Unlike general simulation centers, the Ning Zhao & Ge Li Simulation Center is uniquely dedicated to oncology care in the ambulatory setting. Our training spaces mirror the Institute’s actual clinical spaces, ensuring that learning directly aligns with real-world care delivery.
