Biography
Shannon Ugarte, MD
Dr. Ugarte earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2016. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Alameda Health System – Highland Hospital, where she also served as chief resident. She subsequently completed fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and a Certificate in Healthcare Quality and Safety at the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2025, Dr. Ugarte joined the faculty at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a GI Medical Oncologist specializing in the care of patients with gastrointestinal cancers. She also participates in the Quality and Patient Safety team at DFCI as Associate Medical Director for Clinical Quality Improvement, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across departments on a range of institutional initiatives.
